The Straccio Easy Chair, created by the design team of Jonathan de Pas, Donato D'urbino, and Paolo Lomazzi and manufactured by Zanotta Italy in 1967, boasts a unique and stylish design. Its foam-covered structure and original fabric upholstery make it incredibly comfortable. While there is some minor patina on the leather and metal parts, the chair remains in very good vintage condition. This lounge chair works well in a variety of settings, including living rooms, family rooms, screening rooms, and offices, as well as in hospitality or corporate locations such as boutique hotel lobbies, cocktail bars, members' clubs, and luxury boutiques. The trio's partnership began in 1966, during which time they developed an interest in creating furniture and temporary architecture using advanced industrial materials and technology. They have since designed and built a range of products including home and office equipment, lighting, electronics, and bathroom fixtures that have been produced by well-known companies such as Alessi, Cassina-Marcatre, De Padova, Lumina Italia, and Zanotta, to name a few. They have participated in numerous exhibitions, including the Triennale, the Eurodomus, and "Italy: The New Domestic Landscape" at MOMA in New York. Their works are also found in design collections at museums around the world, such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the VIctoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Jerusalem Museum in Israel. In recognition of their work, they have received numerous awards, including the prestigious Compasso d'Oro in 1979. Their archive has been declared "of particular historical interest" by the Minister for Cultural Patrimony and Activities and is now stored in the CASVA in Milan for conservation and consultation.
