Zanotta's 'settebello' modular sofa, crafted from fabric and polyurethane, was a postmodern masterpiece designed by Gionathan de Pas, Donato D'Urbino, and Paolo Lomazzi in 1974. Their aim was to break away from modernism's strict conventions and instead focus on exploring the unique characteristics of materials, employing vivid colors, and creating symbolic appearances. During the 1970s, modular sofas dominated the design world, boasting plush, bulky designs in bold colors. This innovative seating system includes ten pieces, six in green and four in brown. The designers ingeniously combined the seat and backrest into one element, with the pieces held together with a sturdy, taut fabric. This creative feature offers endless possibilities for experimenting with configurations while double stitching highlights each component's unique qualities. Large seats and thick cushions guarantee optimum comfort. Please note that some of the green elements' fabric has faded in a charming way due to sun exposure.
