This is a stunning pair of lounge chairs from the mid-century modern era, crafted by Italian masters De Pas, D'Urbino & Lomazzi. The chairs feature patinated camel leather that has been beautifully aged, and segmented walnut sides and back that lend a high-end design look. The cushions are in great shape with no visible wear, providing comfortable seating. This particular design is uncommon yet superb, fully original and in wonderful condition with minor patina from age and usage. Paolo Lomazzi began collaborating with Jonathan de Pas and Donato D'Urbino in 1966, and together they developed a specific interest in creating furniture and temporary architecture with industrially advanced materials and technology. They were responsible for a series of pneumatic structures for the Italian Pavilion at the World Exposition in Osaka, for the XIV Triennale of Milan and for Eurodomus. Throughout their career, they designed for well-known companies like Alessi, Artemide, and Cassina-Marcatre, among others. Their works have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Compasso d'Oro of 1979, and are featured in design collections at several museums including MOMA in New York, the VIctoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Their portfolio has been covered in various international publications, and several exhibitions dedicated to their work have been organized around the world. Though Jonathan de Pas passed away in 1991, D'Urbino and Lomazzi continued working together until 2017, and now they work independently. Paolo Lomazzi also teaches at several faculties of design in Italy. In 2018, he received the ADI Compasso d'Oro Career award.
