The sculptural chairs created by the renowned Italian designers group De Pas D'urbino Lomazzi were a hit design piece during the mid-1980s, impressing with their lightness, vibrant color, and ability to add joy to any environment - be it an entrance, dining room, or bedroom. These unique pieces are lacquered in China blue with Sormani's famous 20-gloss mat lacquer, measuring H cm 77 x 42.5 x 46.5 (ft: H 2' 6" 5/16 x 1' 4" 47/64 x 1' 6" 5/16) with a seat height of cm 44 (ft:1' 5" 21/64). Despite being over 35 years old, they show only minor signs of wear and tear, which can be remedied by changing the cream/light yellow cushion fabric with a customized pattern from any specialized upholsterer. With just a couple of screws on the bottom, the round padding can be easily removed. The chairs belong to the "Sari" collection designed by De Pas, D'Urbino, Lomazzi for Sormani in the early 1980s, inspired by Japanese aesthetics, with captivating and unique shapes that make them stand out with unparalleled lightness. The chairs were presented for the first time in 1983 during Milan Fair and have been a best-seller ever since, making them a coveted collector's item with a Certificate of Authenticity on original vintage letterhead.
