This is a one-of-a-kind wooden box called "Grissinato," featuring a unique blue crystal inlay and a hand-decorated, corrugated crystal lid adorned with a "Pipe smoking man" design. It was designed in the 1930s by master designers Gio Ponti & Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte in Milan, Italy. This rare piece is an extremely sophisticated room accent and a museum object. It measures H 6.5 cm - 27 x 15 cm and is featured in the Fontana Arte catalog Issue no. 2. Despite its age, the piece is in very good condition with slight aging of the crystal, as shown in the photo, but no dents or chips.
