Giò Ponti is a renowned figure in Italian design and architecture, having left an indelible mark on furniture, tableware, architecture and interior decoration during his illustrious career spanning three decades. Notably, his 646 Chair designed for Cassina, dubbed "Leggera" due to its modest weight, is one of his most famous works. While it is more sturdy and slightly heavier than its well-known counterpart, the 699 "Superleggera", the latter is so lightweight that one hesitates to sit on it. We are pleased to offer nine original chairs in their original blue leather upholstery, produced and delivered in the sixties and carefully preserved. The image displays six chairs, with three more available from the same source; more pictures can be provided upon request. Interested buyers should note that they are also available for individual purchase by contacting us through the 1stDibs message center.
