These Gio Ponti cherrywood panels, featuring a thick edge with an owl's beak, are a rare find. Originally part of the unique furnishings of the single rooms at the Hotel Royal in Naples in 1955, they served as wall side panels for the suspended single bed. The panels are in good condition, with an original patina, and come with a copy of the original invoice from the Hotel Royal. Manufactured by Giordano Chiesa by Dassi, these panels are directly from the hotel's original furniture collection and are a testament to Ponti's exceptional design talent. Each panel measures H 80, cm 207 x 42cm and has a wooden support at the back for easy mounting. Few lots are available in different wood essences, but they match the headboards of the single beds perfectly. These items have been exhibited at prestigious venues, such as London's Modern Design Museum and Milan's Triennale, and a similar item from the same collector is now in the permanent collection of the TRIENNALE of Milan. Don't miss these beautiful pieces, recently exhibited at Camere D'Artista: Italian Design 1930-1960, from July 24 to September 14, 2014, at VIlla Bertelli Forte dei Marmi, Lu, Italy.
