This exquisite green ceramic vase, designed by the esteemed Italian designer Gio Ponti and manufactured by Richard Ginori between the 1930s and 1940s, boasts a rare and beautifully flared shape that makes it an ideal decorative piece. The manufacturer's brand can be seen stamped underneath the base. The Ginori Manufactory has a rich history that dates back to 1735, when Marquis Carlo Andrea Ginori founded a porcelain factory near Florence. Since then, the Doccia Manufactory has become renowned the world over for its exquisite elegance and refinement in porcelain. Under the direction of Leopoldo Carlo Ginori Lisci, significant advancements were made in the manufacture of porcelain, which continued through the 19th century to the present day. The renowned Gio Ponti served as the Manifattura's artistic director from 1923 to 1933, introducing innovative elements with respect for both ancient and oriental culture. Today, the Manufactory continues to innovate with the help of some of Italy's greatest designers, including Franco Albini, Franca Helg, and Aldo Rossi.
