Four elegant lounge chairs, model 'Dezza' nr. 48, designed by Gio Ponti for Poltrona Frau are available. These chairs boast Ponti's fundamental design principles from a formal and methodological perspective. The characteristic tapered triangular wooden legs and the modular system of only a few pieces to assemble make them unique. The chairs come with a grey lacquered ash supporting structure and refreshing light blue leather upholstery. The backrest has a leather headrest for enhanced comfort. Despite showing signs of age and wear, the chairs can be reupholstered by our highly skilled craftsmen in our in-house restoration atelier before shipping. Gio Ponti, born in Milan in 1891, graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1921 after serving in the military during WWI. He had an immense influence in architecture, furniture design, and the arts. Ponti was a member of the Triennial committee and founded Domus magazine with Gianni Mazzocchi in 1928. He collaborated with designers such as Antonio Fornaroli and Alberto Rosselli, and his work inspired designers like Paolo Buffa, Paco Muñoz, and Lina Bo Bardi.
