This is a stunning dining table designed by the esteemed Gio Ponti in early 1940s Italy. Crafted with a rectangular top in Italian walnut veneer, it features four sleek tapered legs with elegant fluting. The intricate fluted grooves on the edges of the table add to its striking design. Complete with a certificate from the Gio Ponti institute, this table reflects Ponti's signature style seen in his work for the University of Padua and VIlla La Quiete dell'Alpino. While it shows signs of age and use, it remains in good overall condition. Technical drawings can be found in the March 1940 issue of Domus and the table has been featured in recent Design auctions by Phillips in London and New York.
