The armchair, a part of the Molteni&C Heritage collection, was designed by Gio Ponti and produced for Altamira, a company founded by De Cuevas's nephew in America. It was showcased in New York alongside furniture by other renowned designers such as Ico Parisi, Franco Albini, Carlo de Carli, and Ignazio Gardella, chosen from the most representative exhibitors at the 10th Milan Triennale. Molteni&C has exclusively remade the D.156.3 armchair with a solid American walnut or black semi-matte lacquered frame, manually assembled and sandpapered. The backrest and seat support straps are made of ergonomic elasticized material, and it features a cushion quilted support in polyurethane and polyester fibre with an under-seat insert in shaped polyurethane. The available colors are anthracite, blue, and grey, with strap color options of black or hunter green. The dimensions are D 97 x W 71 x H 88 cm, and it is available in glossy black lacquered wood and American walnut finishes.
