Nino Ferrari was originally from Canneto sull'Oglio, but relocated to Milan in the 1920s to attend courses at the Brera Academy. All of his pieces feature his handwritten signature, and the designer's name is never indicated. Consequently, it is impossible to definitively discern the extent of Gio Ponti's involvement in Nino Ferrari's work from 1936 to 1952. Nevertheless, the architect's influence is discernible, and it is likely that the pieces published in "Casa e giardino" and those published in "Domus" or "Stile" had been approved by him. Some objects were attributed to Ponti's design by "Casa e giardino," but only bear Nino Ferrari's signature. This silver tray, marked as 800 on the back, showcases the techniques of embossing and chiseling that were popular in the late 1930s and shares a similar iconography to other pieces from that period linked to Ponti. It is signed by Nino Ferrari himself, as evidenced in the photographs and is in excellent original condition.
