George Nelson was the designer behind these Mid-Century Modern chests, manufactured by Herman Miller in the USA in the 1950s. As per the original owner, these chests are believed to be prototypes featuring a smaller second drawer than the first. Interestingly, the original owner was a prominent figure in Herman Miller's technology department during the 1950s and 1960s, and even held the patent for the innovative material that attached the upholstery to the fiberglass on Eames shell chairs.
