This classic piece of Mid-Century Modern design is George Nelson's model #4691 slat bench for Herman Miller, originating from the 1960s. Its maple slats feature a warm patina that is highly sought after and sits atop ebonized legs. The wax pen markings on the underside indicate its authenticity, with the numbers 264/4691 and Nat/Blk present. While it lacks a label, it originates from a single owner estate. In its original, unrestored condition, there is only minor wear to the surface, but the black legs remain in excellent condition. This solid Nelson bench is versatile, suitable for use as both a coffee table or bench, and is one of George Nelson's most iconic and enduring pieces.
