Crafted by George Nakashima in his New Hope studio around 1969, this exceptional two-piece sideboard or credenza showcases the beauty of American black walnut and solid oak interiors. The lower section boasts exposed dovetail joints and a natural contour of the wood slab showcased on its frontal free edge. Behind the sliding doors, a divided interior with an adjustable shelf on the left and four drawers on the right offers ample storage. The upper cabinet features a similarly striking free edge front and opens to two compartments, one with an adjustable shelf. This piece embodies the graceful proportions and superb craftsmanship for which Nakashima's woodwork is renowned. The original owner's name, as signed by Nakashima, remains on the back of each piece, and a copy of the 1969 order card is included for added provenance.
