This exceptional double pedestal desk boasts a rare design, crafted from high-quality walnut wood with a distinctive rosewood butterfly adorning the top. Created by the renowned American furniture designer George Nakashima in the 1950s, this piece bears the name "COX" handwritten in marker on the bottom of the top, indicating that it was custom-made for a specific owner. As a result, each desk is one-of-a-kind and a remarkable work of art in its own right. A similar example can be found in the book "George Nakashima Full Circle" by Derek E. Ostergard for the American Craft Museum of the Museum Craft Council, published in 1989, featured on page 122.
