The RIMA armchair designed by Gastone Rinaldi in 1968, affectionately referred to as the "P 180", is a sleek and stylish piece of furniture made of aluminum casting and fiberglass. The padding is covered in a vibrant fantasy fabric, and the manufacturing brand can be found on the base. Rinaldi, who became the owner of RIMA in 1948, discovered his talent as a designer during his time there. He introduced modern and avant-garde designs to the brand's repertoire, using his extensive knowledge of metals. His chairs, in particular, became emblematic of the transition from artisanal to industrial production in Italy during the 1950s. His signature element, iron rod, can be seen in many of his famous designs, such as the DU30 armchair, which won the Compasso d'Oro award in 1954.
