Gaetano Pesce's artistic style is synonymous with eccentricity, modernity and the concept of "happening" - which focuses on the transformative nature of objects. His designs experiment with various forms and materials, and often seem to incorporate the idea of embracing imperfections and flaws as a means of achieving originality. One of his most notable creations is the Umbrella Chair, which he designed for Zero Disengo in 1995. This chair is exceptionally lightweight and easily transportable, and boasts the unique feature of being able to transform into a walking stick by pressing a special button; another press turns it back into a chair. The chair's spring legs act as shock absorbers, offering a delightful oscillating and movement effect. In recognition of its exceptional design, the Umbrella Chair won the Award from Interior Design Magazine in the same year. The manufacturer's signature can be seen in a charming detail within the photos.
