This particular cabinet is a gorgeously refinished Honduran Mahogany 'Taliesin' Model #2005 Special Cabinet on Stand, which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Heritage-Henredon in 1955 and produced for only two years, making it a highly sought-after and rare collectors item. In fact, this particular cabinet design is considered one of the most sought-after of the entire collection, and it features the rare sought-after architectural base with equally rare and sought-after two-door cabinet with concentric square designs on doors. Additionally, this cabinet is signed with the red Taliesin symbol on the back along with its stamped model #2005. Frank Lloyd Wright's goal for this line was to design pieces that make the home more efficient as well as more beautiful. He achieved this by incorporating the chamfered wood edge with an abstracted Greek key motif, covering the edges of each item in the collection. Moreover, each piece from this line was executed in Honduran Mahogany, a high-end luxury wood choice. Wright aimed to design pieces with infinite adaptability to American living, where desks could double as dressing tables, small tables could be used as a chair or stool, and bookcases had moveable tops transforming into room dividers. The decoration was limited to the greek key edges to let the piece speak for itself, with the elimination of any hardware door or drawer pulls in favor of cut-out flush pulls that catch light and shadow for exciting and changing patterns. Wright pitched three different concepts to Heritage Henredon: 'Burberry,' 'Honeycomb,' and 'Four Square.' The 'Four Square' design was the one selected for production and renamed 'Taliesin' after Wright's home in Wisconsin. Each piece from this line is identified with a branded signature that is often accompanied by a red square, which is a distinguishing feature of the Taliesin line. This particular cabinet design recently broke auction records for its model, showcasing the rarity and desirability of Frank Lloyd Wright's work, along with the uniqueness of this cabinet design and demand from art and design collectors and investors, along with the interior design community. This beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright Taleisin cabinet would look great in various settings, such as a Craftsman, Farmhouse, Monterey, Spanish, Mission, Arts & Crafts, Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern, or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment. It could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room or in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical, or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. It would also be an excellent option for a commercial project, such as a hotel lobby lounge, members club, creative design studio, or high-rise executive office. You can use it as a small blanket chest, a dry bar for liquor and glassware, a media console cabinet, a large side or end table, or a large bedside table/nightstand. It measures H 26.25" x W 34.75" x D 20.5", and it is in excellent restored condition, with some light signs of age still apparent. However, it is beautiful and ready to use and love immediately.
