The Frank Lloyd Wright interior design book set, "Wovens" and "Wallcoverings", published by Schumacher, are a must-have for any architecture enthusiast. Measuring 12" H x 9" W x 1.5" D each, with a box size of 12.5" H x 9.25" W x 4.75" D, these two volumes were originally part of a three-volume box set, which included a third volume titled "Prints". A complete set in its original box is also available in my store. Many recognize Frank Lloyd Wright for his iconic architectural masterpieces, such as Fallingwater and Taliesin, but few are aware of his talent in textile design. In partnership with Schumacher in 1955, he created a line of graphic and bold fabrics under the brand, the Taliesin Ensemble. Although successful in its time, Wright's textile designs have been overshadowed by his architectural legacy. In 1986, Schumacher introduced a collection adapted from Wright's designs, including textiles, sheers, and various wall covering options during the Post-Mod Neo-Deco craze. An extremely rare original anthology of sample prints from this collection is available in my store, along with other rare fabric and wallpaper compilations/sample books from the 1986 collaboration. Schumacher's collaboration with Wright was groundbreaking for both parties. For Wright, it was his first commercialization of non-architectural products, encouraged by House Beautiful editor Elizabeth Gordon. For Schumacher, it provided a link to one of the most important architects in the country. To celebrate Frank Lloyd Wright's 150th birthday in 2017, Schumacher and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation partnered once again on a new fabric collection inspired by Wright's original designs.
