A lounge chair made from wood and fabric, which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and created by his Taliesin studio, was produced in the United States in 1938. It was originally designed for the Charles L. and Dorothy Manson House in Wausau, Wisconsin and is documented in the archives of The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation as FLLW Project 4009. A statement of provenance from The Frank Lloyd Wright Archives is included with the present lot. This chair was sold at auction by Fifty/50 in New York and then by Sotheby's in New York in 1993. It has been part of a private collection and was sold at a charity auction to benefit the Bailey House in New York in 2002. The chair is now part of a private collection located in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
