The Taliesin 1 armchair was originally designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1949 for his home-studio in Scottsdale, Arizona. Symbolic of the architect's design maturity and unique aesthetic code, the chair has angled components and a complex geometric structure that ensures both stability and comfort. Cassina manufactured the chair between 1986 and 1990, and has now revisited the iconic design in collaboration with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. The new version features a more reclined backrest and thicker padding for added comfort. Crafted from a single piece of folded plywood, the armchair's origami-inspired design is a nod to the Japanese art form. It is available in a limited edition of three colors with leather upholstery that matches the lacquered structure. The I Maestri collection by Cassina contains furnishings by renowned architects such as Wright, Le Corbusier, and Charles Rennie Mackintosh, among others. With Cassina's futuristic approach, these designs have been precisely preserved while using advanced fabrication technology.
