When asked to list some of Frank Lloyd Wright's famous creations, people might mention Falling Water, Taliesin, or his renowned suburban homes in Chicago. However, what many architecture enthusiasts may not know is that Wright was also a talented textile designer. In 1955, Wright teamed up with Schumacher to produce a line of fabrics that were bold and graphic, and though they received accolades at the time, they have been somewhat overshadowed by his architectural accomplishments. Fortunately, in 1986, Schumacher reintroduced a collection that featured Wright's designs from the 1950s and earlier, during the Post-Mod Neo-Deco craze. This collection included a variety of textiles such as wovens and sheers, as well as a selection of wall coverings. Today, an incredibly rare and beautiful original set of swatches from this 1986 collection is available for purchase. Additionally, my store carries several other stunning and precious fabric and wallpaper sample books from the collaboration between Schumacher and Wright.
