In 1997, the initial step towards restoring the Darwin Martin House situated in Buffalo, NY involved repairing the damage caused to the roof and gutters due to ice and snow exposure during the period of unheating. The coppersmith who created the new gutters took out all the damaged ones to determine exact measurements, while the original gutters were preserved for almost two decades until recently acquired. In collaboration with the original coppersmith responsible for restoration, the owner conceived a design featuring a trough bowl that is secured through the same gutter hanger style applied to design feet in 1905. The final product is an Arts & Crafts prairie style that can be utilized for various purposes, with the gutter and end panels derived from the original stock, and only the feet and grommets being new. This is part of a limited edition, and authentication will be included for buyers through a signed statement from the coppersmith responsible for all the work conducted. This decorative feature has dimensions of 23.5 inches wide, with a few other sizes also available.
