Frank Lloyd Wright designed the Arnold House set of modular side tables, which are triangular in shape and were created in 1954. A total of four tables can be utilized together as a coffee table, or as two or three side tables, or if preferred, they can be used independently. These tables are not the mass-produced triangular tables that FLW designed for Henredon later in 1955, but the original pieces from the Arnold House crafted from black laminate and pine and marked with aluminum circular numeric tags. Each table has dimensions of 30.5 inches in width, 26 inches in depth, and 20 inches in height. The Arnold House is situated on a vast estate on the western outskirts of Columbus and offers views of neighbouring farmlands. Frank Lloyd Wright designed the house in 1955 for E. Clarke Arnold, a prosperous Columbus-based lawyer, his wife Julia, and their growing family. Similar to many of Wright's clients, the Arnolds approached him for their own home after seeing a design he had created for their acquaintances - the Kinneys. This single-story dwelling is constructed from Wisconsin limestone, redwood board, and batten, and glass. It utilizes Wright's diamond module housing form, a design that he also used for the Kinney House, the Richard Smith House, and others during the late 1940s and early 1950s. The design uses 60 and 120-degree angles, resulting in equilateral parallelogram modules that are 4 feet long. Initially designed with two wings in a V-shaped plan - a living room wing, a bedroom wing, and a core with a fireplace mass, kitchen, and utilities - the home later required a second bedroom wing due to the arrival of twins. Wright approved this extension in 1959, but he passed away that year before it was constructed. Wright apprentice and Taliesin Fellow John H. "Jack" Howe created a second partial revised design, resulting in the house's final Y-shaped plan. The house is still owned and occupied by the descendants of E. Clarke and Julia Arnold.
