Designed in the early 1950s for Knoll associates, model 116 of the decorative sideboard was created by Florence Knoll. She studied architecture under renowned architects Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Eliel Saarinen before joining her husband in the company. Following her husband's passing in 1955, Florence Knoll took over the company. This particular sideboard is crafted from honey-colored wood and boasts two sliding doors with cognac leather handles. The doors are beautifully finished with raffia, which should not be confused with seagrass as it is much thicker. Inside, the sideboard features five shelves and a drawer covered in green felt. It remains in excellent condition, boasting a lovely patina. The doors have been refinished using raffia sourced from old stock and add to the sideboard's overall charm.
