Critic tasting note: "The Finca Piedra Infinita has 52 hectares and surrounds the neat and austere concrete winery that Zuccardi has in Altamira. The vineyard has been divided into more than 40 plots, according to the characteristics of the soil, the strains planted and the genetic material of the vines. Both Super Cal and Gravascal, the new members of the Piedra Infinita line, correspond to small sectors of the vineyard, so small that they barely weigh 800 kilos each. The wine is then fermented in cement, with half of its full clusters in a sort of semi carbonic maceration and then it is aged for a year in old 500-liter barrels. Actually, there are only two barrels, one for Gravascal and the other for super lime. In the case of Super Cal, it comes from a sector of light sandy soils with a very calcareous background that seems to give this one hundred percent Malbec a monolithic, firm, intense and austere structure. But that alone is austere here; the rest is a small feast of flavors of ripe red fruits, violets and herbs. One to keep for at least five years." - 97/100, Patricio Tapia - Descorchados
