Critic tasting note: "The 35-hectare Finca Piedra Infinita surrounds the neat and austere concrete winery that Zuccardi has in Altamira. The vineyard has been divided into more than 30 parcels according to soil characteristics, the varieties planted, and the genetic material of the vines. This Gravascal is from one of the two key places in that area—from a half-hectare parcel of soil with a layer of about 40 centimeters of sand and silt atop those rounded, alluvial calcium-covered stones that are so typical of some parts of Uco. Compared to Supercal (Zuccardi's other top wine), Gravascal is the finer of the two and may also be (in context) more delicate as well. It has juicy red fruits with floral and herbal tones in the midst of very firm tannins, the chalky sensation that comes from those calcareous soils, and the tension, acidity, and juiciness of a delicate wine with great depth." - 97/100, Patricio Tapia - Descorchados
