Critic tasting note: "When Sebastián Zuccardi refers to the origin of the Supercal and Gravascal wines, he says “said place,” with a nod to the lieu-dit of Burgundy, those little units of land that yield very special wines. Zuccardi has 52 hectares of vineyards around the Piedra Infinita winery in Altamira, and they are the source of several wines, including the remarkable Concreto and Finca Piedra Infinita, that, to a certain degree, predate both Supercal and Gravascal. In the case of Gravascal, it is a small unit of the vineyard, a spot of less than 2 hectares, where the soils have a predominance of large, eroded stones covered with calcium carbonate starting at a depth of 50 cm. Compared with its sibling Supercal, this wine is much more austere, with harder, more severe bones. If you ask me, off the top of my head, I’d say that this wine offers a clearer vision of the place, of the prototype of a monkish, austere malbec from Altamira. Everything about this malbec is austerity." - 98/100, Patricio Tapia - Descorchados
