Critic tasting note: "When Fabre Montmayou began producing its Grand VIn in 1993, they selected the oldest vines on the property, planted in 1908. The proportion is 85% malbec, 10% cabernet sauvignon, and the rest is merlot, all from the vineyards that surround the winery in VIstalba, in what is one of the largest collections of old vineyards in Mendoza. As usual, this wine offers a great depth of flavors associated with a dense body and extra-polished tannins that move through the mouth like cream. It's a pleasure to drink now, perhaps with slow-cooked meats, but it certainly needs about 10 years to reach its plenitude." - 96/100, Patricio Tapia - Descorchados
