In 1981, Ettore Sottsass designed a Mandarin table in varying materials - plastic laminate, metal and glass. This designer and architect was a prominent figure of the 20th century, having participated in many radical movements of the 70s and 80s. He established the Memphis group in the same year, radically changing the world of Italian and global design. Sottsass won numerous awards, including the coveted Golden Compass in 1959, and is remembered as the designer of Olivetti's first laptop "Valentina". Despite his passing in 2007 at the age of 90, Sottsass remains an influential figure. The Memphis group, which Sottsass founded, overturned traditional design logics to create New Design. Memphis is still revered for their use of new shapes, materials and patterns, even influencing contemporary industries. The Mandarin table measures W 63, D 63, H 28 inches and is made of metal, plastic laminate and glass. Authenticity is guaranteed, with a metal plaque signed by the designer and the original design date included with all purchased items. Please kindly note that VAT is not included in the pricing.
