The Dioniso2 wall mirror is part of a stunning collection of six mirrors of varying shapes and sizes. It is characterized by its vibrant polychromatic frame, which is composed of laminated colored mirror elements, colored laminated glass, and lacquered glass. Ettore Sottsass, the brilliant mind behind this mirror, was born in Innsbruck, Austria, in 1917. After completing his degree in architecture from the Turin Polytechnic in 1939, he opened his own design and architecture firm in Milan. Throughout his career, he showcased his paintings in solo exhibits in Italy and abroad while also participating in group art exhibitions and numerous editions of the Milan Triennale. His collaboration with Olivetti began in 1958, and he received three Compasso d'Oro design awards during their thirty-year partnership. In the 1960s and early 1970s, Sottsass' work explored themes that became central to his designs in later years, laying the foundation for what became known as Nuovo Design. He founded the magazine Terrazzo with Barbara Radice in 1988, which expanded the themes of Nuovo Design to architecture and contemporary culture as explored by Memphis. Sottsass returned to architecture in 1985, and his works are now in permanent collections across a wide range of museums around the world. The Dioniso2 wall mirror itself measures W 70, H 64 and will require an additional VAT charge, which is not included in the list price.
