Ettore Sottsass designed two burl wood vases, in black and brass, as a part of his "27 woods for a Chinese Artificial flower" collection. These vases were made in an edition of 12, and this particular pair are numbers 3 and 9 from the "I" editions. Each vase is signed with a manufacturer's label that reads "Design Gallery, Milano, Ettore Sottsass, 1995, Made in Italy," along with the edition number. The price listed is for both vases. The vases are in very good vintage condition, with no chips, dents, or noticeable scratches. They also retain their original, heavy brass vase inserts. Upon close inspection, vase number 3 shows slight separations in the seams of the wood but this does not detract from their overall appearance, rather adds to it in a pleasant way.
