This rectangular Etrusco mirror unit showcases a crystal mirror and Alpi veneer frame, alongside an aniline-vanished wooden shelf and base with gold-plated cylindrical elements. Each piece is labeled with a progressive number. Ettore Sottsass, born in Austria in 1917, received his architecture degree from Turin Polytechnic in 1939 and opened his own design office in Milan in 1947. He collaborated with Olivetti for over thirty years and received three Compasso d'Oro design awards. Sottsass laid the groundwork for Nuovo Design in the 1960s and 1970s, exploring themes that would become central to his designs. He founded the magazine Terrazzo with Barbara Radice in 1988 and returned to architecture in 1985. His works can be found in the collections of museums such as Centre Georges Pompidou, Musée des Arts Décoratifs, VIctoria & Albert Museum, and MOMA. The ETR dimensions are W 120, D 45, H205.
