The exquisite 'Central Park' cocktail table, crafted by Ettore Sottsass for Knoll Studio in 1983, boasts a stunning Emperador Dark marble base which seems to float effortlessly and is supported by eight Nero Marquina marble columns. The columns feature inset hemispheres which elegantly support the sleek glass top. This design was part of Sottsass' initial series of creations for Knoll, which included the Eastside and Westside seating collections. The modernist style of the piece is in contrast with the designer's flair, while the columnar supports offer a subtle nod to Sottsass' love of ancient and primitive forms. This table was available in three different sizes during its production period until 1991. The example showcased here is the largest of the three. This rare piece is a fantastic addition to any stylish interior.
