Displayed here is the EU wired Bay table lamp made from glass, aluminum, and plexiglass. It was designed by Ettore Sottsass for Memphis Milano in 1983. Sottsass, an influential architect and designer, was born in Innsbruck in 1917 and graduated from the Politecnico di Torino in architecture in 1939. He was a prominent figure in the radical movements of the 1970s and 1980s and the founder of the Memphis group in 1981. Memphis Milano, a cultural phenomenon in the 1980s, revolutionized design by changing creative and commercial logics. Its influence is still present today. The Bay table lamp has dimensions of Dia. 15.75 and H 19.75 inches, and requires a bulb E 27 for lighting. It is wired in 220 V for the standard EU light socket.
