The Malide glass vase, which belongs to the esteemed "Malide Glass" collection, was initially created by Ettore Sottsass in 1986 using Murano glass and is signed on the base with "E.Sottsass per Memphis." For more information on its authenticity, please refer to the provided documentation. Born in Innsbruck in 1917, Sottsass was a renowned architect and designer and played a pivotal role in the radical movements from the 1970s and 1980s. He founded the Memphis group in 1981, which brought about a significant shift in the Italian and global design industry. Even after his passing in 2007, Memphis Milano remains the embodiment of his great work and legacy. Memphis Milano is the renowned cultural phenomenon that disrupted the creative and commercial logics in the design industry in the 1980s. With Ettore Sottsass as the backbone, Memphis introduced new shapes, materials, and patterns that expanded the limits of the industry, becoming a symbol of New Design and influencing various sectors of production. With dimensions of H 19.25 inches and crafted using glass, each Malide vase is unique due to the product material and production process used to create it. Please note that prices exclude VAT and that purchased products will come with a Memphis Milano authenticity form. Additionally, glass and silver items feature an engraving with the signature of the designer and the original year of design.
