Initially created by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen in 1940 as an entry for the 'Organic Design in Home Furnishings' contest for New York's Modern Art Museum, the Organic chair never went into production until 1950. Recently, VItra has started producing the chair in the mid-2000s. Featuring a curved shell seat with integrated armrests and a backrest with a cutaway detail, the Organic chair has a red fabric upholstery contrasted by black ash legs. These chairs are considered design icons and would be a great addition to any dining room or kitchen table.
