VIneyard notes: "On a granite bedrock of migmatites, the soil is sandy, rich in minerals, quite shallow at higher altitudes (400m), deeper at the bottom (230m). The richness and diversity of the elements which can be found here (potassium, magnesium, fluorine, phosphorus) determine the finesse and the aromatic complexity of the wines. With its steep slopes facing south, the Schlossberg demands terraced viticulture. The Schlossberg is an exceptional terroir for Riesling, on which it bestows a pure expression, a fine structure and remarkable finesse. Most of our Rieslings are from the Schlossberg, apart from our Riesling Cuvée Théo, originating from the Clos des Capucins. Our Schlossberg cuvées, lively and elegant, come from the upper part of the hill, where the soils are very shallow. Our Cuvée Colette emerges from the lower part, creating wines that are full and ample."
