The Dyane was designed to be more comfortable and practical than the 2CV, with improved seating, a larger luggage compartment, and better soundproofing. The Dyane was produced in several different models, with various engine sizes and body styles. It was available as a sedan, wagon, or van, and came with either a two-cylinder or four-cylinder engine. The most popular model was the 6HP, which had a 602 cc engine and could reach a top speed of 105 km/h (65 mph). Over its 16-year production run, the Citroën Dyane gained a reputation for being an affordable and reliable family car. It was especially popular in Europe, where its compact size and fuel efficiency made it ideal for city driving. Today, the Dyane is considered a classic car, and many enthusiasts continue to drive and collect them.
