The first-generation Chrysler Windsor was introduced in 1939 and featured a spacious cabin and luxurious amenities such as automatic transmission, an automatic radio antenna, and power brakes. It was powered by a 241 cubic inch inline-six engine which produced 106 horsepower. The second-generation Chrysler Windsor was introduced in 1946 after a production hiatus during World War II. It featured a new, modern design with longer, lower, and wider bodywork and was powered by a more powerful 250 cubic inch inline-six engine which produced up to 116 horsepower. Over the years, the Chrysler Windsor received various upgrades and improvements, including the introduction of V8 engines in 1951, power steering in 1952, and power windows in 1954. The final generation of the Windsor, which was produced between 1959 and 1961, was characterized by its sleek, low-slung design and powerful V8 engines. Overall, the Chrysler Windsor was known for its reliable performance, sophisticated styling, and luxury amenities, making it a popular choice among car buyers looking for a high-quality, full-sized vehicle.
