First Growth. Premier Cru Classe in 1855. Sometimes refered to as 'Ancien Cru du Roy' as displayed on older labels. Critic tasting note: "Damn, I love old Sauternes! When they retain their fruit, honey and freshness, there is nothing like it. This wine had it all in spades. Copper and bronze in color, the honey, caramel, molasses, candied orange peel, pineapple and apricot nose already sealed the deal. But the sweet, honeyed, tropical fruit and marmalade finish made it even better. Blind, I would have guessed this was decades younger. 95 Points" - 95/100, Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
