First Growth. Premier Cru Classe in 1855. Critic tasting note: "The nose is fruity, elegant, racy, aromatic and offers richness, a racy minerality as well as a very fine incisive side. It reveals notes of quince, crushed kumquat and small notes of litchee associated with touches of small nut fruits, candied peach, fine hints of citrus as well as a very discreet hint of spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a beautiful definition, juiciness, a mineral frame (racy minerality), a fine tension, freshness, a good structure, a certain straightness in the structure as well as a fine and elegant grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of candied lemon, crystalized mandarine and small notes of crystalized pineapple associated with fine touches of kumquat, quince, crunchy pear as well as very discreet hints of flowers, candied ginger, a subtle hint of spices (in the background) and honey/vanilla. Good length." - 95 - 96/100, VertdeVIn
