Second Growth. Deuxieme Grand Cru Classe in 1855. Since 2007 Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is owned by the Rouzaud family of Louis Roederer. Expert tasting note: "Deep, dark, almost opaque ruby-red color. medium intensity of weedy/stalky cassis fruit with chalky aromas. There is a fair intensity of leafy cassis fruit, whose aromas are lifted by good acidity. the fruit has some depth and well-handled, clean new oak adds complexity. The structure however is unyeilding and the tannins dry out the finish." - 11/95 DCAMW
