Second Growth. Deuxieme Grand Cru Classe in 1855. Since 2007 Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is owned by the Rouzaud family of Louis Roederer. Expert tasting note: "Almost totally opaque ruby color. Fruit on the nose is restrained & notes of tobacco, tar & cedar dominate. The palate displays more of the wine's rich red-fruit core, overlaid by spicy cedar oak. A powerful & quite full bodied wine for this estate. The palate is smooth-textured with its chunky tannins being tempered by the rich fruit. Length is fair." - 11/93 DCAMW
