Second Growth. Deuxieme Cru Classe in 1855. Second Cru by Denis Dubourdieu. Critic tasting note: "The nose is aromatic, fruity and offers a fine intensity as well as richness. It reveals notes of quince, candied William pear and small notes of candied kumquat associated with touches of spices, nutmeg as well as a very fine hint of tea, roasted hazelnut as well as a discreet hint of pepper. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, juicy, elegant, well-built and offers a racy minerality, unctuosity, a juicy/acidulous frame, a beautiful gourmandize as well as finesse. On the palate this wine expresses notes of candied lemon, quince and small notes of candied zests associated with touches of candied kumquat, pâtisseries, honey/caramelization as well as discreet hints of hazelnut. Good length and good persistence. There are fine hints of almond, hazelnut and honey/pâtisseries on the persistence." - 95 - 96/100, VertdeVIn
