Fifth Growth. Cinquieme Grand Cru Classe in 1855. Expert tasting note: "The color is a pale to medium ruby-red. The nose is open with restrained redcurrant aromas & delicate tobacco-leaf & cedar notes. The light to medium-bodied palate shows off red-fruits fruits framed by touches of cedary new oak, that lend a little grip at the finish. Acidity is fresh & the wine's alcohol is balanced. The finish lases reasonably well. This is a pleasantly balanced wine in a lighter style, probably not for long ageing." - 11/93 DCAMW
