Fifth Growth. Cinquieme Grand Cru Classe in 1855. Formerly labeled as Chateau Clerc-Milon-Mondon. Expert tasting note: "The wine has a good, deep ruby red-color. The nose displays a medium to full intensity of raspberry & blackcurrant fruit. The aromas & flavors are still quite closed. The palate shows-off a good depth of chocolatey/rich dark fruit overlaid by notes of cedar & tobacco leaf. Cedary tannins combine harmoniously with the rich fruit. Acidity is fresh & alcohol is in balance. The finish has fair length. This is an impressive wine, it should age well, yet should become approachable quite quickly." - 11/93 DCAMW
