Third Growth. Troisieme Grand Cru Classe in 1855. Expert tasting note: "The ruby-red color is quite deep. The nose displays open, ripe dark-cherry fruit tinged with slightly dusty cedarwood notes. The palate is of mid-weight with juicy, ripe, redcurrant fruit supported by fresh acidity. There is a light underlying tannic structure that provides a little grip at the finish. Alcohol is balanced & the finish is of passable length. The wine is pleasantly balanced, the fruit may open a little, but this is probably for short to mid-term drinking." - 11/93 DCAMW
