Charlotte Perriand designed a modular system in 1953 that can be utilized as a sofa, bench, or other options. Cassina relaunched the design in 2004 and manufactured it in Italy. The Refolo modular system features minimalist and essential volumes, and the design prioritizes functionality. The designer drew inspiration from the orient and simplified shapes. The horizontal plane consists of nineteen parallel strips of wood in natural or dark stained oak, supported by two or three legs. The padded seats are integrated harmoniously with a simple anchoring device, making it possible to locate them wherever required. Refolo is ideal for the living room or other areas, enhancing relaxation and conversation with various configurations.
